Our Story

Embrach Cricket Academy began as part of the Zurich Nomads Cricket Club, where a small but passionate group of volunteers dedicated themselves to nurturing young talent. As the number of participants grew—particularly among refugees discovering cricket as a familiar connection to home—it became clear that a more focused, development-driven structure was needed.

This led to the creation of Embrach Cricket Academy as an independent organisation, designed to provide inclusive, high-quality coaching for players of all backgrounds. Our mission quickly expanded: not only to train competitive cricketers, but also to offer a safe community space where young people can build confidence, find belonging, and develop essential life skills.

Today, the academy supports boys, girls, and women across multiple age groups. Many of our players come from refugee backgrounds, and cricket offers them a meaningful way to integrate, form friendships, and regain stability through sport. We also welcome players from other clubs who are eager to refine their individual skills through our specialised coaching programmes.

In recent years, we have invested heavily in women’s cricket, recognising its enormous potential in Switzerland. Through targeted training sessions, mentorship, and competitive opportunities, the academy is helping to build the next generation of female athletes and role models.

What began as a small extension of a local club has grown into a vibrant, multicultural training hub with a strong developmental philosophy. Embrach Cricket Academy continues to evolve, driven by the belief that cricket is more than a sport—it is a bridge between cultures, a platform for talent, and a pathway to empowerment.
